Historic Wins and Drama as FKF National Super League Kicks Off

The FKF National Super League kicked off last weekend, following a 14-day delay, with 10 exciting fixtures played across Saturday and Sunday. The round featured impressive debut performances, high-scoring games, and even some unexpected drama.

3K FC’s Historic Victory Over Kisumu Allstars
Newcomers 3K FC made an emphatic start, thrashing Kisumu Allstars 4-0 at Moi Stadium, Kisumu, on Sunday. Oscar Juma stole the show with a hat-trick, while Brian Misango added another to complete the rout. The result left Kisumu Allstars’ coach, Charles Bruno, contemplating his next steps ahead of round two.

Both scorers are new signings for 3K FC. Juma, who joined from FKF Division Two Zone B side Transfoc FC, was the top scorer for his former club with 14 goals last season. Misango also marked his debut with an impressive performance.

MOFA’s Winning Debut
Another league debutant, MOFA, secured a historic 1-0 win against Naivas in an early kick-off at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, on Saturday. Brian Juma netted the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the first half.

After the match, MOFA coach Alfred Chole praised his team’s discipline and focus, emphasizing the long road ahead:
“The boys worked hard and stuck to the game plan. We scored in the first half and maintained defensive discipline to get the win. The National Super League is a long journey, but we will keep pushing, correct our mistakes, and move forward.”

APS Bomet Triumphs Over Mombasa United
APS Bomet also started their campaign with a win, beating Mombasa United 2-0 at Bomet Stadium on Saturday. Led by coach Evans Mafuta, Bomet took the lead in the first half through Alex Shamalla’s strike. Dominic Kirui doubled their advantage early in the second half, and the team held on to secure all three points.

Dan Omalla Shines on His Nairobi United Debut
Nairobi United, recently acquired by the Johnstone Sakaja Foundation, kicked off their season with a 2-1 win over Mombasa Stars at Serani Sports Club on Sunday. Financial troubles now behind them, Nairobi United, nicknamed “Naibos,” were determined to start the league on a high.

Dan Omalla delivered for the team, scoring twice to seal the victory. Mombasa Stars’ Abdulrahman Abdallah scored a consolation goal, but it wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.

Match Abandoned Between Samwest Black Boots and SS Assad
In an unusual turn of events, the fixture between Samwest Black Boots and SS Assad, scheduled at Vapor Grounds, was abandoned before kick-off. According to reports, the match was called off after the hosts failed to provide a properly equipped ambulance on time.

One player, speaking anonymously, explained:
“Samwest provided an ambulance, but it wasn’t adequately equipped as required by the league. They eventually brought another ambulance, but it arrived after 51 minutes, exceeding the 45-minute limit.”

SS Assad refused to take the field, demanding a walkover, but the fourth official did not grant it. Both teams now await an official verdict from FKF.

Other Results
Luanda Villa left it late to defeat Kibera Blackstars 1-0, thanks to a Barnabas Tiema goal.
